BIOGRAPHY
Biography
1882-1969
Born in Kurume, passed away in Yame, Fukuoka.
Along with Shigeru Aoki, who was a fellow artist from Kurume, he laid the foundation for modern western-style painting in Japan.
He received the Order of Culture in 1956.
