[Fukuoka] Ryo HIRANO Exhibition - The Beginning and The End - October 13 (Sat) 28 (Sun), 2018

Ryo HIRANO "a painter of the soul" who has consistently drawn human beings, especially his inner self and the darkness of mind and light. In the early days he continued to explore his own expression. Through a mature period depicting human darkness in a figurative expression, in the abstract expression "Light in the darkness" and "Life in the Universe" were expressed in a group of works of the late period.

In this exhibition, we will focus on the works before the 1950's and the works after 1980.
It will approach the real image of an unknown artist Ryo HIRANO.

Ryo HIRANO: Born in Oita, 1927. Lost both parents in his childhood. Self-taught painter. Became a member of Jiyu Bijutsu Organization, 1958. Founded Shutai Bijutsu Organization, 1964. Became independent, 1975. Began to travel the world while continuing to make and present his work in solo exhibitions. “The World of Ryo Hirano Exhibition” held at Kitakyushu Municipal Museum of Art/ Received Nishinippon Culture Prize, 1987. Died in 1992.
