Picasso left enormous amount of artworks. Even only prints amount to over two thousand. Especially, his practice centered on etching resulted in a few series and masterpieces that still occupy important position in the global art world.The postwar Japan achieved high acclaim internationally at first by prints. Artists including Shikou Munakata, Tetsuro Komai, Chimei Hamada, and Kumi Sugai were successively awarded at the International Print Biennale and started to be highly appreciated. We are going to exhibit a number of prints from both within and outside Japan.Please make a visit to see the works created by artists' devotion to and resolute experimentations for printmaking which carved out diverse ways of artistic expression.
