What the artworks by Takashi Yatouji attract us is the novel artistic style with vivid colors and lines spreading freely over images. There are both light depiction like pop-art and thick brushstroke like modern painting, in addition to both essences of abstract and figurative art. He does not compromise to find the best material to implement those effects.

He is a young and energetic artist who is highly expected by his hometown since he gained attention by being the youngest to receive the first prize at Eiten (Tagawa Museum of Art) in 2013 at the age of 22. Recently, he held a solo exhibition in Fukuoka at Okawa City Seiriki Art Museum. In this exhibition titled “Portrait”, he will perform live painting of a large work that reaches five-meter long in a reproduced atelier in the gallery space. We hope he will bring a wind full of energy to the society exhausted by the epidemic.
We are waiting for your visits. (Kazunobu Abe, Mizoe Art Gallery)
