Ribal Molaeb Exhibition「RIBAL From Mount Lebanon to Mount Fuji」
2025/07/05
2025/07/21

"Sunset 2" 100 x 130 cm,Oil on canvas
A harmony of vivid colors and light brushstrokes strikes the viewer in Ribal Molaeb's paintings. Depicted are the impressions of colorful flowers, as well as the mountains, sky, and sea, often of his home country of Lebanon or his current country of residence, Switzerland, and their changes throughout the day. Having studied music, the artist is also a viola player, and his father is a prominent painter in the Middle East. This unique background may be what brings about his unique paintings, from which silence, rhythm, and melodies flow. This is his first solo exhibition in Japan. We hope you look forward to it.

Ribal Molaeb
Born in Baissour, Lebanon in 1992. From an early age, he would spend his days in his father and painter Jamil Moraeb’s studio, immersed in the world of oil paints, learning his techniques day by day. From the age of 17, he studied at Mozarteum University Salzburg in Salzburg, Austria. He then moved to Vienna to study at the University of Music and Performing Arts, where he received his Master of Fine Arts degree with distinction. While serving as an artistic director of the “SUMITO” art and music society in Switzerland, he also organized the “Moraeb Festival for Chamber Music and Fine Arts” in Lebanon.
In parallel with his activities as a painter, he has performed as a viola player at International classical music festivals and concert halls around the world.
His musical education and activities have profoundly impacted his deeply nuanced and colorful vision as an artist. He has exhibited at galleries and art fairs around the world, including New York, London, Paris, Dubai, and Abu Dhabi, and his work is in the collection of the Arab Museum in Paris (IMA). He currently lives and works in Zurich.
