“Could Destruction Become Creation?”
-To create something is an accumulation of destructive acts.-
Kikuma Mochizuki started his career and debuted the Destruction Series in the 1970s with this idea above. The culmination of this series is "BRASS RIPPING"and it was created by heating and ripping a sheet of brass.

“All Art Is an Evocation Apparatus”
Mochizuki introduced the Evocation Apparatus Series in the 1980s, based on the belief that art should speak to viewers, move their hearts and evoke their emotions. One of the most well-known works from this series "Horizon in the Void" will be displayed at this exhibition.

"FREEDOM"
From around 2010, he began to creat As One Wishes series with the idea that all people should have freedom. By seeking liberation from himself, he created "FREEDOM" during 2024 - 2025, which is the main artwork on this exhibition.

We hope you can enjoy seeing his 55 years trajectory.
