Satoru Jogasaki

When creating his artworks, Satoru Jogasaki spends a significant amount of time mixing paints in order to achieve his ideal color. This results in a delicate expression of colors which adds warmth to the entire painting, provoking the viewer's imagination and providing a sense of comfort. The silhouette of buildings set against the backdrop of a lilac sky brings to mind the scene of a quiet sunrise or sunset.
However, it is evident the artist does not solely draw what he sees with his eyes. Windows act as symbols which illustrate people's lives. The moon and Birds make frequent occurrences in his artworks for their ability to spur instinctive human emotions. In their depiction, the artist does not focus on the characteristics specific to individual objects or creatures, but rather, a common form, a typicality that captures its essence, turning the depiction into something that appeals to universal human feelings.
Although it is impossible to completely shut out influence from others, drawing in one's most natural state is the key to creation of artworks that touch on universal feelings, says Satoru Jogasaki.
