1921 Born in Kokura City, Fukuoka Prefecture
1945 Demobilized from the Marines at the end of the war and enrolls in the Department of Art History, Faculty of Letters, University of Tokyo
1949 Exhibits at the 13th Shinseisaku-ha exhibition (Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum), and receives the Okada Prize
1951 Enrolls in Sorbonne University as a privately financed student
1954 Participates in the exhibition “Japanese in Paris” at the City Art Museum of Leverkusen (former West Germany)
1959 Moves to the village of Voirin in the suburbs of Paris
1963 Exhibits at the “Trends in Contemporary Painting” exhibition at the National Museum of Modern Art, Kyoto
1966 Exhibited at the 7th Contemporary Art Exhibition of Japan (Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum), awarded the Prize of Excellence
1967 Returns to Japan
1969 “Itoku Tagaya: Yasukazu Tabuchi Exhibition” (Kitakyushu Municipal Yahata Art Museum)
1971 Produced a ceramic wall painting for the American Express building (designed by Arne Jacobsen, Copenhagen).
